We Just Don’t Know

You have no idea what comes next. None of us do. We wake up and we likely do the same things day after day and it’s easy to not stop and appreciate having woke up. It’s easy to get dragged down into the daily world of sleep, eat, work, shower, repeat. It’s easy to get lost in the mundane of work, kids, life.

But everything can change in a split second. It can go from bad to worse or from worse to good or good to great. You can win the lottery. You can get that job promotion. You can get a much deserved raise. Or you can be saying goodbye to a loved one. Getting laid off when things have already but hard enough. Lose everything you worked for.

We are promised anything. What we have can be gone in a blink of an eye. Life doesn’t owe us explanations nor does it come with guarantees or a manual on how to navigate. You are here for a short time. What we chose to do with our time is up to us but don’t think for one second because things are good or because things are hard that life will always remain where it is. Truth is, life is ever changing even when we don’t see those changes day to day.

Don’t take it for granted. Don’t assume that love one will always be here. Don’t assume the hard times won’t get better. Don’t base life off one moment because everything can change the next.
